Trade is much in the news. Today the CityUK hosted a great set of conversations on trade, investment, and national security. Reimaging trade relationships led the day, with a stellar group of thinkers and people engaged in business, government and trade. 

As the world adjusts relationships we need to understand what affects investment, and where growth can be found. On the M&A front tech whether life sciences, software or AI seems to be the driver, and services remain key to the UK’s opportunities. Goods have been the focus of most trade news, but  it is services where the UK has greatest advantage whether that is insurance, pensions, legal or other tertiary services, we should make the most of our expertise.  Tech and services can be the drivers of the next decade, I hope the UK government and business embrace those sectors.
