Tonight we celebrated how digital services are improving what we offer to London.
Our aim is to realise the City of London Corporation’s vision of London as a world-class city and a global leader in innovation and sustainability, we must harness the power of digital, data, and technology. These elements are not just tools for efficiency and effectiveness; they are catalysts for transformation and innovation.
It’s an honour to lead the digital services committee seeking to improve public services with technology. My thanks to our former chair Dawn Wright who saw that embracing a forward-thinking digital, data, and technology strategy, we can:
Deliver ‘Brilliant Basics’: Provide reliable, secure, and user-friendly services that meet the diverse needs and expectations of our stakeholders.
Make data-driven decisions: Utilise data and analytics to inform policy, planning, and delivery, and to measure impact and performance.
Innovate and collaborate: Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and sharing, and partner with other organisations to co-create solutions to complex challenges.
Empower our colleagues: Equip our team with the skills, tools, and support they need to work effectively, flexibly, and creatively in the digital age.
Enhance our reputation: Showcase our achievements, share insights and best practices, and lead by example in using digital, data, and technology for public good.
The journey doesn’t stop there either as we heard tonight from Lord Kulveer Ranger - the world is changing and we need London and the UK to embrace digital opportunities.
