The relationship between Germany and the UK is key to the future of Europe. Since the Prussians ensured the allied victory led by Wellingtom at Waterloo, we have know that when we work together we can achieve a great deal. More recently the UK and Germany signed the Kensington Treaty on Friendship and Bilateral Cooperation, it is both defensive and seeks to grow trade, as part of our growing relationship to share in the defence of Europe, and maintain economic bonds this week saw the President of Germany visit the UK. It was an honour to take part in the state visit and support the ambition of collaboration in AI, science and education. To all my German friends thank you and I hope we always have einer dauerhaften Freundschaft!
