Bishop of London and James Tumbridge

On Thursday January 8th 2026 I was privileged to attend the service of Institution, Induction and Installation of The Reverend Phillip Dawson as Rector of Saint Olave Hart Street and All Hallows Staining with St Catherine Coleman. A Church in the fine Ward of Tower.

Attendees included the St Olave Scholars, the St Olave Singers and members of the Hanover Choir, the University of London Society of Change Ringers for all the wonderful music and the special peals. The event was led by the Bishop of London in one of her last duties before becoming Arch-bishop of Canterbury.  Clergy from across the City and further afield (including Gloucester and France) joined us for the service.

Trinity House then hosted a reception after the service, thanks to Commodore Martin Atherton OBE and Captain Nigel Hope.
