Markets moving to Barking

The Court of Common Council, the City of London Corporation’s main decision-making body, has today agreed its preferred site to consolidate and relocate three historic wholesale food markets, subject to public consultation.

Supporting careers

The London Careers Festival is an enterprise of the City of London Corporation and will be taking place across the City 17-21 June, with the Guildhall hosting two days (Tuesday 18 & Wednesday 19 June).

Ultra low emission zone

The Ultra Low Emission Zone in central London is now live.

As part of the Mayor of London’s action to help clean up the air breathed by millions of Londoners, on Monday 8 April 2019, the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) went live in central London.

Freedom and Joy for Sophie Timms

Today as part of our 100 women nominated to receive the Freedom of the City of London I was delighted to support Sophie Timms who works in Tower Ward for her support of women in the city.  It was a wonderful experience and a pleasure to play a small part in her ceremony.

Smithfield and the Mayor of Greater London

Today I was delighted to join Chairman of the Smithfield Tenant Assocaition and Councilman Greg Lawrence on his tour of the market with Sadiq Khan.  It is very helpful to have a tenant assoacition take this proactive approach to engagement.

City Police saving us from IP crime

The City of London Police’s Intellectual Property Crime Unit (PIPCU) has reported that it has reached  £719 million worth of IP crime disrupted

The Unit has also seen 66,558 suspected counterfeit-selling websites taken down
