The new Lord Mayor made his first international visit this month – to Spain and Portugal.Trade between the UK and the region is worth almost £40bn. Discussions focused on deepening bilateral relationships post-EU exit, especially in the areas of fintech and financing green transition.

In his role as an ambassador for this nationwide industry, the Lord Mayor visited Derry/Londonderry with the DIT Board of Trade to launch its digital trade report. Talks focused on how London and Edinburgh support each other as financial centres.
