Millions to support the homeless

Yesterday I was very pleased to vote for and support a key initiative to help our homeless.  The City Corporation will now be funding a 24/7 assessment hub for rough sleepers in the Square Mile and a new 30-bed hostel have been given the green light.

Rt Hon David Jones MP honoured

Today it was a great pleasure to introduce as a sponsor the Rt. Hon. David Jones MP to receive his Freedom of the City of London. It is a recognition awarded to people who have achieved success in their chosen field, as David has on our behalf as an MP and Minister.

London welcomes 71st Signals Regiment

Many years ago I had the privilege to serve with the Inns of Court and City Yeomanry, who form 68 Squadron of the 71 (City of London) Yeomanry Signal Regiment.  Today we welcomed them to the Guildhall marking their privileged status as a regiment of our city.

Queens Award for Engineering

It was wonderful today to join a celebration of the pioneers of the GPS system who received the Queen Elizabeth Award for engineering.
